Our Mission

Cloud Lake Literary is committed to supporting the creative pursuit and publishing literary excellence and skill from writers across Canada in the fields of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and children’s literature.

About us

Cloud Lake Literary is an independent digital literary magazine and online content space headquartered in Thunder Bay, Ontario (on the unceded lands of the Robinson-Superior Treaty territory which is the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg and specifically the Fort William First Nation). We are interested in the creative pursuit, the artistic journey of writers and artists, and the written word and images that derive from it. We believe that great writers come from great readers and that great readers are looking for great content. We hope you will find that here.

We seek and accept submissions from across Canada and are always looking for new writers and artists. We currently publish fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and children’s literature (ages up to and including YA). In addition to written work, we seek and accept submissions of visual art from artists across Canada.

We support all creatives in their artistic journey. If you create something that you think may inspire and delight our readers, please email contact@cloudlakeliterary.ca to share your vision with us.

We are committed to championing writers, artists, and their creative work and works-in-progress. In addition to producing a literary magazine twice a year we provide an online space for reviews, interviews, lists, and tips.

Cloud Lake Literary was founded by Jodene Wylie. She, along with a team of volunteers, produce and operate Cloud Lake Literary. Our logo was created by Ignacio Santander-Alfonso.

Cloud Lake Literary is a registered and licensed sole proprietorship. We would also like to acknowledge funding support from the Ontario Arts Council, an agency of the Government of Ontario.
